Day 02: Breakfast. Full day excursion: “ Huechulafquen Lake ”

We l eave the city of San Martín de los Andes following the National Route 234 that leads to the city of Neuquen . After 40 kilometers we will reach the town of Junín de los Andes . This town has a high percentage of inhabitants from Mapuche descent. Visit to the “Paseo Artesanal” (handicraft fair). Then we leave Junín de los Andes and stop at the C.E.A.N. ( Applied Ecological Center of the Province of Neuquen ). This center investigates subjects related to the environment, such as how new species both of fauna and flora affect the ecosystem and the local species. We will c ontinue for 22 kilometers until we reach Lake Huechulafquen and the mouth of the Chimehuin river. This place is internationally known because of its ideal characteristics for fly-fishing. O nce we cross the bridge the roads goes along the northern side of the lake and we will be on Mapuche land once again. The area is immensely beautiful: the huge silver lake, the cordillera at the back and the intense presence of the Lanín Volcano. This volcano is 3.776 meters high and is not active. It has a conic form. We'll reach the stretch of water that links lake Huechulafquen with lake Paimún . This last lake is surrounded by mountains inhabited by a variety of animals such as red deer , red fox, jabalí or wild boar, rabbits and otter.

Day 03: Breakfast. Half day excursion: “Chapelco Hill”.

Leaving San Martín de los Andes , we take National Route 234, bordering Lake Lácar , and then turn into National Route 19, and from there 5 more kilometres to get to the base of the mountain. Chapelco Hill is 1,980-meter-high and lodges one of the most attractive ski resorts in the Patagonia . Located 19 kilometers from the mountain village, this internationally renowned resort, with 20 runs of several difficulty levels and excellent snow quality, combines adrenaline and scenery. The impressive view of Lake Lácar , the silence of the lenga forest and the stunning presence of the Lanín breaking the mountain range horizon turn this place into a unique option.

Day 04: Breakfast. Transfer to the Airport for departure flight.

Full day excursion: “ Seven Lakes ”

In the Seven Lakes Route , we travel along route 234 joining the cities of San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura, an area internationally well known because of the beauty of its landscapes and panoramic natural viewpoints, lakes, rivers and endless attractives. In fact, there are not seven but eights the lakes we will visit along our tour: Lacar, Machónico, Falkner, Villarino, Escondido , Correntoso, Espejo y Nahuel Huapi.
