MENDOZA - 4 days / 3 nights
Day 01 - Arrival at Mendoza local airport, meeting and transfer to the hotel of your choice for accommodation. Tour of this beautiful city, along its traditional streets and avenues, sheltered by tall and bushy trees. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 02 – Breakfast. Full-day high-peaks tour (Puente del Inca)
A trip to the heart of the fabulous Andes mountain range, an opportunity to see one of the most spectacular views in the world. We'll take the road to the Andes that goes through Cacheuta, a well equipped spa in a region where fossils of prehistoric animals and ruins of Indian settlements were found. A few kilometers further up is Potrerillos, and later on we'll arrive at Uspallata, the centre of an attractive valley set lengthways between the foothills and the mountains. Continuing, we'll pass by Los Penitentes (ski resort). At 2.720 m. We'll be arriving at Puente del Inca (the Indian caravans that followed the long road from Chile to pre-Columbian Peru apparently passed through this site). A little further up in Los Puquíos, there is a small cemetery with the tombs and commemorative plaques of the many mountain climbers that lost their life on the Aconcagua . There is a Customs post and police station in Las Cuevas (last Argentinean village). The pass to Chile that goes past the statue of Cristo Redentor (Redeeming Christ) will be visited if weather and road conditions allow. At this point we'll be marvelled by a breathtaking view of the Aconcagua . Return to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 03 – Breakfast. Full-day excursion: “San Rafael & Atuel Canyon Tour”. To the south of the province, the almost obligatory route is the Nat. Hwy. 40 which crosses the towns of Tunuyán and San Carlos , two beautiful vineyard oases dominated to the west by Tupungato , and to the southwest by the San José volcano. At Pareditas, the highway branches off to San Rafael , the second most important city in the province. Like its capital city, it is a garden of irrigated crops completely surrounded by desert. This pleasant town, architecturally similar to Mendoza , is another important wine producer. We'll continue till we reach Atuel River and visit Valle Grande and Nihuil reservoirs, ideal areas for water sports. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 04 - Transfer to Mendoza airport for departure flight.
Note: All activities and excursions are subject to modifications without previous notice, as far as these are necessary to provide better service.
Optional Tours :
Half-day wine cellars & Dam tour We'll head towards the districts of Maipú and Luján de Cuyo, passing by large extensions of vineyards and fruit trees. We'll visit and taste the wines of two well-known wine cellars. Later on, visit to the Carrodilla church and its Patron Virgin of the Vineyards. Continuing, we'll learn about the irrigation system that gives life to this real oasis, thanks to the Cipoletti dam.
Half-day Villavicencio springs tour
From the city there are two roads to the foothills and mountains of the Andes . One of them, partly gravelled, goes through Villavicencio . On our way westwards, we'll visit the historic campsite of El Plumerillo, we'll pass by cement factories, the water bottling plant, till we arrive at Villavicencio and its beautiful hotel with its spring waters and luxuriant gardens. We'll go up Los Caracoles - narrow gravelled mountain road - till 2,100 m., from where we'll have a fantastic panoramic view.
